Membership MEETING

August 18, 2009



CALL TO ORDER: Vice President Barbara Taylor CIT called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with four members, two guests and one speaker present. A quorum was not established. Location of the meeting was the City Diner Restaurant. Secretary, Vickie Thompson, was present.


INTRODUCTIONS:  Self Introductions were made.


PROGRAM: Ben Gregory on Skills Training from Del Mar College.


MINUTES: The June and July Minutes were tabled till September.


CORRESPONDENCE:  No correspondence required action.




VICE PRESIDENT: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that the September 15th meeting will be Instillation of the 2009-2010 Officers.


TREASURER: Virginia Llanas reported we made $ 12.00 on the birthday raffle. The June and July treasurer’s report will be tabled till September.




Construction Professional and Education:


TENNIS SUCCESS: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that Ralph was going to send her information but hasn’t yet.


CAD: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that the 2009-2010 project will be a library. She sent the information
to 19 schools. Bruni High School will be doing it again this year.


Publicity: Barbara Taylor CIT, discussed publicity items sent out.


SAFETY: Lisa Huerta will check on setting up a class in October. She will advertise the class with the

ABC and AGC for more participants. Vickie Thompson offered to help her to a flyer.


Unfinished Business: CSI Trailer -President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT reported that Barbara Taylor CIT

and her meet with Robin to look at the trailer to see what kind of shape it is in to fix it up.  

President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT asked David Lewandos of Flagship Homes to check it out. He gave them an estimate to fix it up. Robin will try to get a grant to get the money to repair it.


NEW BUSINESS: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that Suzy Wright with the Salvation Army would like to invite us to a tour of “Doing the Most Good” the fourth Tuesday of every month will be a luncheon and tour Sept 22, 2009 at 12:00 to 1:00 at 501 Josephine. Barbara Taylor CIT said she will send out an email to all members


Announcement: Effective September 1, 2009 TRCC will no longer register builders or remodelers under the Texas Residential Construction Commission Act. The Commission was not re-established by Texas Legislature during the 81st Regular Legislative Session


ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the assembly, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
