CORPUS CHRISTI CHAPTER # 4

Membership MEETING

June 19, 2009

CALL TO ORDER: President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. with seven members and five guests present. A quorum was established. Location of the meeting was the City Diner Restaurant. Secretary, Vickie Thompson, was present.

 

INTRODUCTIONS:Self Introductions were made.

 

PROGRAM: Noel Lopez with STS Consultantís presentation was on Construction Sales Tax.

 

MINUTES: The May Minutes were approved as presented.

CORRESPONDENCE:No correspondence required action.

 

REPORTS OF OFFICERS:

 

VICE PRESIDENT: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that the July 21th meeting will be Mary Afuso with the Toastmasters presenting Better Speakers.

 

TREASURER: Virginia Llanas presented the May treasurerís report. They will be filed.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

Construction Professional and Education:

 

Community in Schools: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that August 7 they will have Stuff the Bus for school supplies at all Wal-Mart Stores. Ron Clark will be their keynote speaker on August 21 ,2009.

 

Bold Future: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that at the May 28, 2009 meeting that NAWIC was shown as an endorser so we are getting our name out in the community.

 

CAD: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that we got a Thank You card from Bruni School.

 

ARK: Cathy Beaudin CCA, CIT reported that Dawn wants to get a metal canopy for the playground. Cathy Beaudin CCA, CIT said that one of the engineers at Western Steel will look and see what he can do.

 

Publicity: Barbara Taylor CIT, discussed publicity items sent out. She said she also sent out a press release on the winners of CAD..

 

Unfinished Business: CSI Trailer -President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT reported that Barbara Taylor CIT

and her meet with Robin to look at the trailer to see what kind of shape it is in to fix it up.

President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT asked David Lewandos of Flagship Homes to check it out. He gave them an estimate to fix it up. Robin will try to get a grant to get the money to repair it.

 

NEW BUSINESS: Lisa Huerta made a motion to pay $ 35.00 for the Directorís gift presented to Julia Campbell at Forum in April. Vickie Thompson seconded. Motion carried.

 

Safety Training: Ann Matula needs to know the date and time in August that we want to do the CPR Safety Class at the Craft Training Center on Leopard St. Lisa Huerta will check and get back to her.

 

Ann Matula also reported that they are looking for scholarships for the students at the Craft Training center.

 

ADJOURNMENT:There being no further business to come before the assembly, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
