CALL TO ORDER: President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT, CCRRC called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. with five members, and one guests. A quorum was not established. Location of the meeting was the City Diner Restaurant. Acting Secretary, Vickie Thompson, was present.
INTRODUCTIONS: Self Introductions were made.
PROGRAM: Cathy Beaudin CCA, CIT did a presentation on NAWIC 101.
MINUTES: The February minutes were approved via email.
CORRESPONDENCE: No correspondence required action.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
PRESIDENT: President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT, CCRRC reported that we Virginia Llanas did the Texas Franchise Tax report for 2009 and 2010.
VICE PRESIDENT: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that the April 20th meeting will be Dr Ann Mitula doing a presentation on what the Craft Training Center does.
TREASURER: Virginia Llanas reported that the February treasurer’s report was approved as printed.
Construction Professional and Education:
BLOCK KIDS: Barbara Taylor CIT asked members to keep an eye out for legos.
CAD: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that March 19th 2010 was the deadline. Vickie Thompson will do Barbara Taylor CIT Regional CAD report for her at Forum. Vickie Thompson asked for plans and an introductory letter for the schools.
Publicity: Barbara Taylor CIT, discussed publicity items sent out.
Salvation Army: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that we collected 1536 tapes. Virginia Llanas, President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT, CCRRC, and Barbara Taylor CIT presented the tapes on February 22, 2010 to the Salvation Army.
Barbara Taylor CIT reported that that Cathy Beaudin CCA, CIT brought cloths.
WIC WEEK: Barbara Taylor CIT gave WIC week pins to all members present.
THE ARK: Barbara
Taylor CIT reported that we got an invitation to the Arks fundraiser.
It will cost $ 50.00 ea person.
WAYS AND MEANS: Barbara Taylor CIT and Vickie Thompson thought we should do a 50/50 raffle at Forum.
Unfinished Business: CSI Trailer -President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT reported that Barbara Taylor CIT
and her meet with Robin to look at the trailer to see what kind of shape it is in to fix it up.
President Darlene Omana CCA, CIT asked David Lewandos of Flagship Homes to check it out. He gave them an estimate to fix it up. Robin will try to get a grant to get the money to repair it.
NEW BUSINESS: Barbara Taylor CIT reported that Suzy Wright with the Salvation Army would like to invite us to a tour of “Doing the Most Good” the fourth Tuesday of every month will be a luncheon and tour Sept 22, 2009 at 12:00 to 1:00 at 501 Josephine. Barbara Taylor CIT said she will send out an email to all members
Announcement: Effective September 1, 2009 TRCC will no longer register builders or remodelers under the Texas Residential Construction Commission Act. The Commission was not re-established by Texas Legislature during the 81st Regular Legislative Session
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the assembly, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
